Berea is the town of hands. Strewn throughout the town are painted
hand statues as if the whole city is saying, "hi." Each is the same shape, but they are all painted by different artists. Similar phenominons exisit in other municipalities. (i.e.,
bears in Knoxville and
globes in Chicago).I was in old town the other day when I noticed that it isn't just statues that are made in the shape of hands. The signs are even held up by wire hand art.
That is a clever way to hold up a sign. Almost as good as a shopping cart holding up the sign for a
Grocey store.
